Allison is one of those rare pregnant women that have chosen to be surprised by the baby’s gender. It’s all going to be a wonderful surprise: The gender and the name. I love it! My relationship with Allison is special in that she is my husband’s step sister. We went around the beautiful Greystone area a few hours before her lovely baby shower, dodging golfers and their golf balls.
Of course, we’ll be documenting the first year of Baby B. I cannot wait to meet baby Burleson!

She gave us a great combination of wide awake and sleepy baby. What a wonderful little model!

You may remember London from her newborn session here. She’s certainly a beautiful little girl isn’t she? I’m dying over that curly red hair! Her mama brought the cutest swimsuit and little swim cap, and I think those are my favorite frames. Really, it’s hard to pick a favorite, she did such a great job. It was bound to happen. The inevitable post about me feeling old. Taylor used to live beside me, which meant I babysat her and her sister in the summertime. I would take the 20 steps from my room to their back door with the girls asking to play school, make cookie and swim in the pool. I would oblige of course.
Now, Taylor is preparing for her senior year and applying for colleges. Yep, I’m getting old. Taylor, I hope you have a wonderful last year as a high school student! I had a blast skipping around Birmingham with you!

There’s nothing like finding a friend who shares the same interests as you. Then there’s finding that friend who you have EVERYTHING in common with. Kamin is that friend for me. Seriously, it’s scary how much we have in common. It’s also a little strange that our husbands have the same favorite band. DMB anyone?
I met Kamin while we were paying our dues in a portrait studio together. Long hours, long talks, short breaks. Sweet K and I talked about trading session for one another last year. She shot mine and Kent’s first session together last November. You can check those out here. Getting 2 photographers to schedule a weekend session together is not easy. So, we’re just getting around to Kamin and Cory’s session.
We headed to my family’s peach farm in Clanton. The rain poured and poured all day. We were an hour from either of our houses, there was no turning back. This was the day we were shooting. As the rain kept beating harder, my doubts grew stronger. Just as we stepped out of our cars and got ready, the rain stopped for the rest of the day! It was awesome. Feet were a little muddy, but hey, what a small price to pay! Enough talk, let’s marvel at how sweet this couple is.

It’s Charlie time! Charlie, his Mom and I headed out to the middle of nowhere early one Saturday morning to have a little 1 year birthday celebration. And when I say the middle of nowhere, I mean we got lost and then magically found the perfect spot. Nothing like a happy accident! Charlie’s mom, Anna, is the owner of Grandmother’s Joy, a very beautiful children’s clothing store in the heart of Mt. Brook. Of course, Anna made Charlie’s cute John John, but he preferred being naked!
