One of the things I love most about newborn sessions are that they are at the family home. I get a peek at the nursery details, get to know the family even more & of course get shots that would only happen in their home. Another favorite detail was that Hannah’s gender was a surprise! I love that! Jake was such a sweet older brother to newborn sister Hannah. Jake thought it quite appropriate (and I couldn’t agree more) that this session needed more red cowboy boots.

We spent some time at Oak Mountain State Park right before all the leaves decided to fall. The timing was perfect. We’ll be catching up with Mary Kathryn in February for her 9 month session. That first year is flying by!

Besides her squishy newborn features, what I loved most about this session was her nursery. Becky & Lara wanted something that wasn’t over the top and that would grow up well as Sidney gets older. So, the literary route seemed the perfect choice. The Wizard of Oz, To Kill a Mockingbird, Alice in Wonderland, The Giving Tree….the list goes on. The classics are represented well.
Sidney is a CBM baby plan and I’m thrilled to be documenting this special first year!
