Happy Thursday! I’m just gonna say it: I’m in love with this maternity shoot! Didi is absolutely beautiful & Andrew is such a sweet & excited Daddy to be! Didi is also a Clanton native, so of course we know each other’s life story. Dance team, choir, church trips…it’s a small town, we did it all together! So, when Didi contacted me to document the first year of baby Lillian, naturally I was thrilled! I’m envisioning baby L having bright blonde hair & blue eyes.
We walked around downtown Birmingham on a beautiful day, capturing Didi in her pregnant glow. I think one of my favorite things to see was when I was setting up a shot & Andrew would whip his phone out for a quick behind the scenes photo. How sweet is that?! Also, I loved that we stumbled upon that chalk drawn heart. It was perfect! Next time we’ll see these two are when they are holding their brand new baby girl!

I am beyond thrilled to finally share with you a very special newborn session. Evelyn & Abigail are my brand new nieces! Though they came about 7 weeks early, they had a (thankfully) short NICU stay. Just as Graham & Susan got the green light to bring their girls home, we packed the car for a long awaited road trip to Wake Forest. The car was full of newborn goodies & we were ready to finally meet these two!
It’s been a long family joke that my husband and I would be parents to twins since they run in my family. All along, God knew that the other Michael family would be the ones welcoming the duo into the world! To see Graham & Sue as first time parents was such a wonderful & exhausting thing to witness. Their conversations were quickly peppered with words like: diapers, bottles, paci. Though their world now includes twin girls, some things never change. While setting up a particular shot for E & A, I could hear Graham & my husband in the background, trash talking one another while playing a game of NBA Jam. You’re never too old for a little brotherly trash talk, or video games for that matter!
A big congratulations to Graham & Susan! We are so thankful for your expanded family & look forward to watching the girls grow! Now, onto these little bitties. Here are a few stats:
Evelyn was born at 9:41 PM on 1.2.12 weighing 3lbs 15oz 16 3/4 inches long
Abigail was born at 9:42 PM on 1.2.12 weighing 4lbs 11.5oz 17 3/4 inches long

Born weighing 7 lbs 13 oz, Katelyn made her debut on the 2nd day of the year. 13 days later she had her first photo shoot & was an instant pro. What a sweet baby girl she was to hold & rock to sleep.
This year is chock full of newborns & documenting their first year as they discover their feet, learn how to sit up, & learn how to walk. I couldn’t be more excited & honored! 2012 is off to a great start!
Now onto the beautiful Katelyn!

Do you really need any reason to swoon over little Luke other than his hair! I’m pretty sure he has more & better hair than I. Luke keeps his mama busy during the day, as he refuses any sort of real nap. Apparently, all she needs to do is take his picture every day because he fell fast asleep half way through our session. Not only that, he let me put his in a little crate while he slept! What a funny fella.
We also had the idea to photograph Luke during the first year in that little white chair, to visually measure how big he’s growing. Here are his newborn photos in case you need a refresher!

I believe the photo above says it all; these new parents are head over heels in love! Sweet Jemma insisted she be wide awake & alert for her first photo shoot, so oblige her we did.
To say Jennifer & I go back is an understatement. We grew up in the same church, school and eventually ended up going to the same college (Roll Tide!). I am thrilled to document Jemma’s first year along with her sweet parents. Jennifer decorated Jemma’s nursery with such special attention paid to detail. The sterling silver cups, the pairs of shoes…the history of this family is evident in her nursery.
Congratulations to Les & Jennifer! Now, let’s marvel at beautiful Jemma!
